QA Analyst - RBC - Toronto, ON

What is the opportunity?

The QA Analyst is responsible for the creation and execution of test cases based on business requirements to ensure quality delivery of software. Partners across IT and with assigned business lines to test new or existing software in order to ensure requirements are met.


What will you do?


Planning & Strategy


  • Manage the defined QA processes to ensure all standards are met

  • Can be assigned as QA representative on complex application development or maintenance projects

  • Participate in release meetings for maintenance and development projects ensuring all platform requirements are met

  • Analyze project or requirement documents to identify test requirements

  • Develop Master Test Strategy and Plan

  • Develop the Test Case documents according the Master Test Plan/Test Strategy

  • Walkthrough the QA Test Cases and the QA Test Plan with the QA Team prior to execution

  • Execute test cases

Relationships & Communication

  • Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close

  • Facilitates complex group meetings and conducts information gathering sessions

  • Prepares and delivers presentations to business and technology partners, senior management and executives, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience

Development & Coaching

  • Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of more junior staff

  • Continually enhances skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have


  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field

  • The Quality Engineer Analyst must have several years of business systems experience to perform well in this role

  • 3-6 years’ experience in quality assurance programs/project

  • Familiarity with Programming languages such as Java, AngularJS

  • Advanced documentation skills

  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software

  • Advanced knowledge of one of the following tools (SoapUI, SoapSonar, IBM RIT)

  • Experience in the following Coding languages (Java, Groovy or ECMA) to support service automation

  • Experience in ETL testing and requirement definitions.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in financial services – would be an asset
