Freedom of Information & Privacy Administrative Assisstant
An excellent career opportunity is available for an individual with knowledge and experience of FIPPA legislation and office administrative practices and procedures.
This position assists the Manager and staff in the Freedom of Information & Privacy (FOIP) Office with day-to-day unit operations in a fast-paced, highly confidential, policy-oriented office environment, and supports the LCBO in meeting its legislative obligations under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) by:
Providing dependable and effective day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Manager and unit staff;
Reliably and accurately coordinating, documenting and responding to time-sensitive public enquiries for access to information, in accordance with legislative and operational requirements;
Maintaining the accuracy and currency of the Offices administrative procedures, recordkeeping systems and information products;
Appropriately safeguarding confidential and private LCBO information handled by the FOIP office.
Qualifications:
General knowledge of the principles, procedures and requirements of FIPPA to effectively process routine Freedom of Information requests from beginning to end
Excellent knowledge of administrative office procedures/processes
A sound understanding of the LCBOs structure and programs
Good knowledge of recordkeeping techniques
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Well-developed sense of tact, discretion and good judgment with experience handling sensitive and confidential information
Thorough knowledge of, and applied skills in, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as skills in, or the ability to quickly and thoroughly acquire skills in, other commercial software packages such as SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Nordat.
