Senior Technical Support Analyst - OPTrust - Toronto, ON





Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure and Network Services the successful candidate will provide Tier 1 technical analysis and support for computer hardware, printing, networking, telephone systems, collaboration tools as well as packaged and customized software for OPTrust.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical expertise in the implementation and administration of computer and network technology and telephone systems.

  • Ensure proper installation of computers and peripherals which could include but are not limited to collaboration tools, tablets, telephone equipment, network printers and scanners.

  • Escalate hardware, software and application issues to the appropriate tier 2 specialist and/vendor as required, after comprehensive initial triage using OPTrust’s ticketing system.

  • Troubleshoot computer, telephone and network problems; using diagnostics software or other testing methods to identify problems and take corrective action.

  • Support business processes, recommending increased efficiency through the use of software; setting up applications.

  • Available to work overtime as required, supporting business operations for the organization, including providing regular weekend on-call support.

Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree/diploma and evidence of progressive development in an IT discipline

  • 2 to 3 years of related experience preferably in financial/pension/investment services environment.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of personal computers, laptops and peripherals such as printers, PDA’s and scanners to provide evaluation, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting services to OPTrust.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products and other software to provide first tier.

  • Understanding of a Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment.

  • Strong background in a Citrix environment is preferred.

  • MCSE and A+ certificate is an asset

  • ITIL V3 foundations certificate preferred.

  • Great networking, relationship building and influencing skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user friendly language.
