Manager, Program Development (Temp Full Time) - SickKids Foundation - Toronto, ON





SickKids Foundation is looking for a dynamic fundraiser and program builder to manage and grow our proactive community event programs. Reporting to the Director, Community Events, the Manager will be responsible for the implementation and execution of new Community Event fundraising programs to drive acquisition and incremental revenue growth. As well, the Manager will manage and increase effectiveness and efficiency of these Community Events programs through the development and implementation of tools that support donor excellence.

The incumbent performs these responsibilities while ensuring integration of our core values for employees and volunteers, in order to support the achievement of organizational goals and objectives to further our mission and vision.


Duties and Responsibilities include:


  • Manage the implementation of two new grassroots fundraising programs within the Community Events portfolio: Personal Challenge & Peer to Peer Fundraising Events and our new young professional program, SickKids Activators

  • Design and implement a recruiting strategy for the Personal Challenge & Peer to Peer program and SickKids Activators

  • Use data analytics and fundraising strategy to further refine these programs to engage and increase donor acquisition, participation and revenue within the Community Event portfolio

  • Design and develop materials and tools to support these programs for use by donors to amplify and elevate the donor experience with SickKids Foundation, as well as, expand audience reach

  • Manage and maintain current systems to ensure data integrity for donor and prospect records

  • Create policies and procedures for the effective and efficient delivery of these Community Event programs

  • Explore future opportunities to expand our current children’s fundraising program, Kids Believe in SickKids, to a broader youth demographic and the creation a hospital family community event fundraising program

  • Provide functional and technical leadership and mentorship to the team

  • Serves as subject matter expert to team and management

  • Design and deliver staff training sessions on new programs

  • Develop and facilitate effective working relationships with team members

  • Develop program goals and objectives including metrics

  • Responsible for achieving annual financial targets (revenue and expense) for assigned segment

  • Manage financial budgets for the assigned segment by tracking overall budget lines

  • Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts of department financial performance against budget

  • Participate in team and cross-functional projects as assigned

  • Act as Community Events team leader by leading by example and exemplifying SickKids Foundation Values;

  • Act as member of Community Events Leadership Team

Required Skills

The successful applicant must possess the following:

  • University degree or Community College Degree (fundraising diploma an asset)

  • Experience in fundraising and development of new fundraising programs, Third Party Event specific, an asset

  • Blackbaud products, Raiser’s Edge, Convio/Team Raiser, Artez or other online fundraising platforms experience and understanding of systems

  • Canada Revenue Agency Receipting Guidelines

  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)

  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills

  • Project Management Skills

  • Superior verbal and written skills

  • Relationship Building Skills

  • Leadership Skills

  • Display good judgement and decision-making skills and strategic thinking
