About the Opportunity:


Jai Ganesh Accounting Inc has a job opening for a Payroll Supervisor. This is a permanent full-time opportunity. The Payroll Supervisor assumes overall responsibility for the day to day payroll operations for our various business clients. This position is responsible for the supervision of general payroll processing, tax compliance and government reporting functions. This position ensures compliance with all applicable government and labour laws and provides support on payroll audits with Canada Revenue Agency, Ministry of Labour & other government agencies.


This job is characterized by the hectic and highly deadline driven nature of the work. It requires strong leadership and proactive planning in order to effectively deal with the work flow inherent in delivering payroll services to our clients. In addition the Payroll Supervisor must ensure that payrolls and benefit deductions are accurate and it is not late under any circumstances.


 


About the Location:


We are located at 127 Westmore Dr, Unit 105 in Etobicoke, Ontario, M9V 3Y6. The main intersection is Hwy 27 and Finch Ave W in the Toronto.


 


About the Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Following are job duties and responsibilities for this position:


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assume overall responsibility for the day to day payroll operations for various business clients by reviewing all types of payroll records and documents for accuracy and compliance with payroll legislation.

  • Resolve difficult pay and benefits administration problems referred by payroll clerks.

  • Ensure special and annual projects are completed, without interrupting or delaying payroll services to clients.

  • Allocate work to ensure priorities are met and checking work for accuracy and completeness.

  • Assist and train payroll clerks to ensure proper payroll and benefits administration procedures and regulations are followed.

  • Ensure accurate payroll deduction calculations and source deductions filing on time with Canada Revenue Agency.

  • Resolves complex payroll issues and assist with payroll audits with various government agencies.

  • Supervise payroll clerks responsible for the preparation and distribution of annual T4, T5 and T4As tax returns.

  • Ensures that all documentation complies with company regulations, professional standards, and payroll legislations.

  • Be willing to engage in lifelong learning with respect to professional development, training, inservices and courses of study.

  • Communicates the role and practices of the Payroll department by handling relations and explaining payroll procedures to our clients.

  • Perform other duties that may be required or assigned by senior accountant.

 


About the Job Skills and Requirements:


Following are the job skills and requirements for this position:


  • Minimum 1 year to 3 years of experience required in accounting field.

  • Business Management/ Administration, Accounting diploma is required.

  • University degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Accounting would be an asset.

  • Enhanced knowledge of payroll processing procedures, payroll legislations, source deduction regulations, and payroll tax and labour laws.

  • Strong Knowledge of current Accounting Principles and procedures.

  • Working knowledge and experience of automated payroll systems and accounting software applications and systems i.e. Quickbooks, Cantax, Profile, Form-Master.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.

  • First class communication skills and an ability to quickly understand and act on questions raised by clients in a timely manner. This will be a highly visible role and so requires someone with an approachable personality.

  • Self-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasks.

  • Ability to work in a team oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • A high degree of initiative and independence.

  • Effective communication (including superb writing, content development skills, strong presentation, oratory and verbal skills) with individuals at all levels of the organization.

 


About the Working Hours, Salary and How to Apply:


Working Hours:  It is a permanent full-time job position that required minimum of 40 hours per week. Full time hours for this position are 10.00 am to 6.00 pm


Job Salary:  $26.00 to $28.00 per hour plus annual bonus, based on experience and knowledge.
