HR Coordinator (Gaming)

Position Summary


Supporting the Gaming HR senior leadership team, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities related to core and transition Human Resources policies and programs and associated activities.


Major Responsibility Areas


Business Partner:


  • Coordinates recruitment activities by assisting partner groups to staff position vacancies, including updating position descriptions, interviewing and assists Gaming HR Directors and Sr. HR Business Partner to prepare for recruitment related activities.

  • Provides support to business partner managers with disability, attendance and performance management application.

  • Supports the annual performance cycle and ensures program compliance across partner groups.

  • Provides coaching and support to employees and managers related to HR Policies and Procedures.

HR Gaming Support:

  • Identifies opportunities for continuous quality improvement through streamlining and automation to improve efficiency and ensure cost effectiveness on process management, including creating process maps, conducting research and analysis. Presents recommendations to management.

  • Tracks completion of compliance and regulation training, assists in promotion of internal learning courses and encourages completion of employee development plans for respective business groups.

  • Develops and delivers written employee communication related to hiring, job changes and severances. Including timely management of shared drives and updating of reports

  • Provides input to HR systems, including disability management and employee updating. Includes completion of all required payroll paperwork. Assists in completing WSIB reporting requirements and coordination for respective business groups.

  • Works with HR CoE to generate queries, gathers and analyzes data and delivery of HR related reports for review and use by HR Gaming team. Participates as a team member on projects and/or special assignments.

  • Provides dedicated support to Executive Director Human Resources; and provides administrative support to the HR Gaming team

  • Supports Gaming Transition activities as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires a minimum education of a University degree in Human Resources or equivalent and some experience in process improvement methodologies. Human Resources Professionals Association designation is an asset.

  • This position requires three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in a generalist role, familiarity with all aspects of HR administration, operations, payroll, recruitment, benefits and HRIS.

  • Knowledge of the various aspects of HR and payroll administration and operations and its workflow and processes.

  • Knowledge of process improvement practices and process mapping; good planning, analytic and organizational abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong team player and ability to work independently.

  • Ability to multi task and prioritize work.

  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

  • Position requires knowledge of HR principles, policies, procedures and practices, including Employment Standards Act and other related employment legislation.

  • Strong research, data collection and analysis skills.

  • Proficient MS Office and PeopleSoft (HRMS)
