The Corporate Services Branch requires an Administrative Assistant to provide support to a fast-paced high profile Agency Relations Unit. If you’re an organized, self-driven administrative professional this could be the role for you!
What can I expect to do in this role?
- Provide a full range of administrative and program supports such as; tracking and approvals for the work of the unit, filing and scanning hard copy e-copy files, arrange meetings, prepare correspondence and provide information on routine matters to senior staff, executives of the Ministry of Labour and its agencies.
- Maintain and update the Order In Council (OIC) database by entering and updating information and verifying it against other sources to prepare reports and ensure accuracy of confidential records
- Assist with research, retrieve information from various sources and prepare the findings to present in various formats
How do I qualify?
Technical Skills:
- You have demonstrated experience with electronic office practices and procedures including proficiency in using computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- You will have experience with database management including data storage, retrieval and maintenance using software such as Microsoft Access
Communication/ Interpersonal Skills:
- You have strong oral communication and interpersonal skills to respond to enquiries, liaise with senior executives and agency staff and to research, collect and disseminate information that is often sensitive or confidential in nature.
- You have strong written communication skill as demonstrated through the preparation of a variety of written documents such; draft letters, preparing briefing materials, presentation slides, reports and/or summary materials
- You are able to format and proofread documents ensuring accuracy and they meet standard formatting requirements
Program Knowledge:
- You will have an understanding of the Ministry of Labours business as it relates to its agencies and to the Order in Council (OIC)

Organizational Skills:
- You have demonstrated organizational skills to prioritize and track the workload of the unit and to meet demanding timelines
