Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
A fast paced Urologic Surgery clinic of two physicians is seeking a team manager for a medical office in Maple (Vaughan), Ontario. Reporting to the owners/physicians, the manager will be an integral member of the team and primarily is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency, while continuing to be intimately involved in all administrative roles. With the ultimate goal of facilitating the provision of an outstanding patient and family experience, the manager will also have the following responsibilities:
- Leadership and accountability at the clinic to ensure a high quality and safe patient/family experience
- Organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness
- Review, evaluate and implement new administrative procedures
- Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met
- Motivate, coach, train staff
- Performance management of staff
- Co-ordinate and plan for office services such as equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, maintenance and security services
- Resolve patient complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations for management
- Covering staff duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- College/University Education
- 2 years of medical office management or medical office leadership experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with patients, healthcare professionals and physicians alike in a fast paced environment
- Reliability, problem solving, critical thinking, judgement, team player, management skills, excellent English verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, related both to employment law and areas of functional responsibility
- Maintain compliance with required Health & Safety, environmental and other legislative requirements
- Experience with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or electronic surgical bookings is considered an asset
