Administrative Assistant – Human Resources & Organizational Development

This position encompasses a wide variety of administrative responsibilities in an environment that is values-driven and seeks to provide our internal clients and members of the public with an exceptional customer-focused experience.


This position supports the People Development and People Services teams, and provides a rewarding, fulfilling and challenging role that can make a true difference for the customers we serve. Essential skills include the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and priorities, maintain composure in stressful situations, and build and maintain positive relationships. The desire to come to work every day to make things better is vital, as is a proven track record in supporting projects and having excellent time management skills.


Your responsibilities and accountabilities:


Complete a broad range of administrative duties for a diverse team, including: Calendar and meeting management; administrative support for individuals on the teams in relation to projects and deliverables on a variety of initiatives; providing support for HR-related functions; respond to telephone and in-person enquiries in a professional manner, and answering, redirecting, and/or following up to ensure issue resolution as appropriate; performs other duties as assigned.


  • At minimum, 5 years of experience supporting management

  • Relationship building: Ability to cultivate trusted and effective relationships with internal customers at all levels of the organization, using diplomacy and tact. Maintains strict confidentiality of employee records and information.

  • Time Management: Uses time effectively and efficiently, identifies and concentrates efforts on important priorities, while still being able to attend to a broad range of activities.

  • Organization: Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal. Uses resources effectively and efficiently.

  • Initiative and Judgment: Works to influence and is proactive. Makes good decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience and good judgment.

  • Strong attention to detail is essential.

  • Ability to work independently within a team setting.

  • Exhibits a professional image at all times.

  • Technical skills: Excellent facility in learning and adapting to a variety of software applications and computer systems.

  • Prior experience working in the broader health system would be considered an asset
