Senior Technical Analyst - Source Control Management - RBC - Toronto, ON

.

Purpose:
Responsible at an RBC enterprise level to provide direction, guidance and support to all teams in the areas of Source Control Management tools and Automated Builds. Responsible to lead and ensure strategic goals and objectives of SCM Solutions are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budget.


Context is small to large development or maintenance projects on distributed and mobile platform (multiple function, multiple application projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties).

Primary Responsibilities:
Planning & Strategy

Create, maintain, support and evolve the Source Control Management infrastructure and procedures and align it with the SCM Process and IT Policies

Collaborate with other areas within IT to identify and improve Source Control Management approaches based on new technologies and architecture of applications and systems

Establish and evolve the enterprise Source Control Management standards and processes.

Provide Source Control Management and Automated Build consulting on simple to complex application development or maintenance projects

Participate in planning and architectural review meetings for projects to ensuring all platform requirements pertaining to Automated Build and Source Control Management needs are met

Evaluate software tools to be used for Continuous Integration, Automated Builds, Source Control Management and a Definitive Media Library, execute proof of concepts

Create, maintain and evolve the Source Control Management infrastructure and procedures and align it with the SCM Process and IT Policies

Provide consulting at the enterprise level for Source Control Management in the areas of tool selection, strategy, estimation, and training

Provides expertise, direction, coaching and development to build the team capability

Continually enhances own skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems


Relationships & Communication

Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close

Facilitates complex group meetings and conducts information gathering sessions

Prepares and delivers presentations to technology partners and senior management selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience

Resolves conflicts/issues and escalates others as appropriate


Position Requirements/Specifications Education/Experience (to enter position)

Knowledge of Subversion, CA Harvest, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, GIT

Knowledge of Windows, Unix, Linux server operating systems

System Development Programming experience

Java.Net Development Programming experience

Knowledge of Jenkins, Maven, Apache Ant, NAnt

Professional with experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties

University degree minimum 5 years experience in the relevant field
