2016 General Helper – Le Café (Seasonal) / Général Helper (Saisonnier)

Position Overview

General Helpers maintain cleanliness and safety of Le Café, assume responsibility for their station if assigned, and perform all duties allocated by the Managers, Supervisors and Chefs.

Responsibilities

• Follow and complete tasks designated by Supervisor.

• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

• Clean tables, discard garbage, ensure floors are clean and safe

• Proper storage and rotation of food ingredients.

• Use of kitchen equipment in a safe manner.

• Assist with planning and loading of trucks and carts for transport.

• Customer service to create a positive guest rapport

• Following of Serve Safe guidelines and WHMIS procedures.

• Be able/willing to fill in as Counter Attendant if needed.

• Restock of multiple outlets

• Report to his or her supervisor, or the CN Tower any contravention of the OHSA, regulations, or the CN Tower policies and procedures or any observed hazard

Requirements

• Must enjoy working with food

• Must have clean work habits and knowledge of food safety procedures

• Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy workloads with good physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and to work in fast paced, hot and humid environments

• Excellent guest services and sales skills with ability to recommend products during the occasional encounter with guests

• Must be able to work in a physical capacity requiring lifting, bending and reaching

• Flexible to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends

Health and Safety

Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Attend all required health and safety training programs (e.g. WHMIS, orientation), and apply knowledge to daily operating procedures at the CN Tower.
