Design Specialist II (Cyber Security) - TELUS Communications - Toronto, ON
Responsibilities:
Full end to end support for launching new products and services:
Ability to test new OEM product release and identify changes and risk exposure to existing service relying on product
Ability to managed existing product and services to ensure that support and delivery teams have a smooth transition during the onset of product launch
Ability to test and document product performance, d2d management requirements, product run books, build documents
May work with the product management team to develop services around the technologies
Support day 2 operations with any product support related questions or issues
Support delivery teams with any product support related questions and or issues
Qualifications
Required Knowledge:
Strong technical security architecture (logical, physical and component level)
Strong knowledge of technical security controls and trends in the industry (on-premise, hosted, cloud)
Emphasis on SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), RSA enVision experience preferred, security analysis
Solid understanding and experience of multi-site switched network administration, with a strong understanding of dynamic routing protocols, TCP/IP, failover and high availability systems
Network security infrastructure (e.g. Firewall, VPN, Network IPS, Web proxy, Email, DLP, AAA) design, implementation, and troubleshooting
Endpoint security (e.g. AV, HIPS, Firewall, encryption, DLP, etc.) design, implementation, troubleshooting
Required Skills & Abilities:
Can identify and resolves problems that are diversified and complex and frequently involve new issues that may not have been encountered before in the field of IT security
Requires judgment in coordinating analysis of diverse information, reviewing recommendations, and making decisions in order to resolve problems
Demonstrates self-motivation and accountability on technical projects to ensure timely execution, clear communication of risks, and profitable delivery
Committed to continuous personal development to maintain, enhance and evolve technical security knowledge
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
Possess one or more of the following vendor certifications: RSA, Mcafee, Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Symantec, and Arcsight
Industry certifications are an asset:
CISA/CISM/CISSP
SANS/GIAC
Other industry recognized Information Security certifications
Required Experience:
The candidate will poses the following directly related experience:
Minimum 5 years technical design and implementation experience in Information Security
Experience with minimum two of the technical security domains identified in the Required Knowledge section
Experience, understanding and a working knowledge of a variety of security related standards, guidelines and best practices
