What is the opportunity?

As Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence Reporting, you will be responsible for the production, development, enhancement and maintenance of platform and Head Office financial and non-financial reporting for external, management and other reporting needs. You will provide production support in monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting activities and implement automated solutions according to business requirements and manager’s direction. Support Finance Shared Services – Reporting Services strategic direction and vision.


What will you do?


  • Accountable for the production, maintenance and enhancements of required financial and non-financial reports specific to WebFocus, SQL, Cognos BI and other reporting tools

  • Responsible for the development and timely delivery of scheduled, new and adhoc reports and change requests. This includes requests against EPM, CGID, EDW, Finance Datamart or other data sources

  • Automate and streamline reporting process relating to report distribution, scheduling, bursting, etc.

  • Maintain reporting environment and reporting governance around publishing of BI reports (Cognos Report Studio, Event Studio, Webfocus, …)

  • Ensure Service Level Agreement is met and reports are produced/scheduled within agreed timelines and GV runs, providing reporting support during month end, quarter end reporting cycles and forecasting/planning periods.

  • Ensure report and quality standards are adhered to and continuous improvement initiatives are embedded within production and development

  • Ensure adequate and up to date documentation on workflow tickets, report inventory, reporting processes and related activities/components

  • Participate in special projects as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, financial engineering, math or computer science disciplines or equivalent education/experience with strong knowledge of technology and financial reporting processes and financial Services Industry experience & general business acumen

  • Strong combination of technical competencies and financial/business knowledge to develop reporting solutions

  • Strong knowledge of RBC source systems in business units and reporting processes (e.g. EDW, OLMS, OLBB, DDA, TPS/eTL, … )

  • Strong technical proficiency in BI reporting tools with a focus on WebFocus, SQL, Cognos Report Studio, etc.

  • Quick learner to grasp new reporting tools within a very short time frame and apply the skills to develop, produce and maintain reports

Nice-to-have

  • RBC Finance and organizational knowledge preferred

  • Working knowledge of RBC financial systems (EPM/Cognos TM1, CGID, PeopleSoft, FiBRS, Finance Datamart, Requestor Tools)

  • Experience with VBA

  • Experience with using Cognos report studio against TM1 dimensional cubes
